On July 15, 2025, at approximately 6:30 AM, a sleeper coach bus traveling from Pune to Parbhani became the scene of a tragic event. Ritika Dhere, accompanied by Altaf Shaikh, gave birth to a baby boy onboard. The couple allegedly wrapped the newborn in cloth and threw him out the window, leading to the child’s death.
Alert Citizen’s Intervention
A vigilant passer-by noticed a cloth bundle discarded from the bus and discovered the lifeless infant inside. The individual promptly alerted authorities via the 112 helpline, enabling police to intercept the bus. This swift response facilitated the immediate apprehension of Dhere and Shaikh.

The couple, hailing from Parbhani but residing in Pune for 18 months, claimed financial inability to raise the child as their motive.
