ANDHRAPRADESH: Nara Lokesh Warns of Legal Action Over Unproven Claims
Education Minister Nara Lokesh has issued a stern warning to YSRCP leaders over unverified claims of financial disbursements while outlining significant strides in educational reforms across Andhra Pradesh.
Legal Action Against Baseless Allegations
Lokesh demanded that YSRCP leaders substantiate their claims of Rs. 2,000 deposits into personal accounts or issue public apologies. Failure to comply will result in legal repercussions, signaling a departure from leniency toward false narratives.
School Kit Distribution Nears Completion
Approximately 80% of school students have received educational kits on the first day of the academic year. The remaining 20% will be covered by June 20, ensuring comprehensive access to essential learning materials.
Mother’s Salute Initiative Clarified
The “Salute to the Mother” scheme, aimed at supporting families, faces challenges due to inactive bank accounts. Lokesh urged parents to activate accounts to facilitate timely fund transfers, excluding Anganwadi children from the program.
- Funds returned from inactive accounts to be reprocessed.
- Scheme designed to honor mothers for each enrolled child.
Mid-Day Meal and Teacher Allocation Enhancements
The government has introduced small rice portions in mid-day meals to improve nutrition. Additionally, the “One Class-One Teacher” model has been implemented in 9,600 schools to streamline education delivery.
Free Electricity and Teacher Transfers
All government schools now benefit from free electricity, reducing operational costs. Teacher transfers are slated for completion by June 16, optimizing staff allocation for the academic year.
Mega DSC Recruitment and School Enrollment Drive
The ongoing mega-DSC recruitment aims to bolster the teaching workforce. Concurrently, efforts are underway to increase enrollment in government schools, prioritizing quality education over quantity.
Critique of Previous Administration
Lokesh criticized the YSRCP’s tenure for neglecting the education sector, noting it took 100 days to ascertain government school enrollment figures. He pledged to establish an “AP Model Education” framework within a year.
Commitment to Educational Excellence
The minister emphasized systemic reforms to elevate government school standards. Investments in infrastructure, nutrition, and teacher support underscore the state’s vision for a robust education ecosystem.
