Case Breakthrough

In a shocking turn of events in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district, police uncovered a brutal murder hidden behind a missing person report. Ruby, the wife of victim Rahul, initially claimed her husband vanished, but evidence soon pointed to her involvement in his death.

The discovery began on December 15 when a decomposed torso was found in a black bag behind an Idgah in Chandausi. Missing the head and limbs, the body bore a key clue: a tattoo reading “Rahul” on one arm.

Victim and Suspects

Rahul, a 40-year-old shoe trader, lived with Ruby and their two children in Chandausi’s Chunni locality. Married for 15 years, their relationship soured due to Ruby’s extramarital affair with Gaurav.

Police reports indicate Ruby and Gaurav conspired to eliminate Rahul after he caught them together. Some accounts suggest another accomplice, but investigations focus primarily on the pair.

The Fatal Night

On the night of November 17, Ruby invited Gaurav over while Rahul was away. When Rahul returned unexpectedly around 2 a.m., he discovered them in a compromising situation, sparking a heated confrontation.

In the ensuing fight, Ruby struck Rahul on the head with a heavy object, killing him instantly. The couple had argued frequently, as later revealed by their young daughter during questioning.

Gruesome Aftermath

The next day, Gaurav procured a cutter machine to dismember Rahul’s body at home. They severed his head, arms, and legs, packing the parts into two large black bags Ruby had bought.

One bag with the head and limbs was dumped into the Ganga River near Rajghat, about 50 kilometers away. The torso went into the other bag, discarded behind the Idgah to evade detection.

Deceptive Cover-Up

To avoid suspicion, Ruby waited a week before filing a missing person report on November 24 at Chandausi police station. She acted composed, denying any knowledge when summoned to identify the recovered clothes.

Her plan faltered when officers examined her phone gallery. A photo of Rahul in the same T-shirt found with the torso exposed the lie, leading to her confession under intense questioning.

Police Investigation

Authorities seized the cutter machine and other items from Ruby’s home, confirming the crime scene through forensics. They arrested Ruby and Gaurav, charging them with murder and evidence tampering.

Search operations continue for the remaining body parts in the Ganga. Officials drew parallels to recent similar cases, highlighting the premeditated nature of this tragedy.

Community Impact

Locals expressed horror at the brutality unfolding in their quiet neighborhood. Rahul’s children, now orphaned in effect, provided emotional statements that aided the probe.

This case underscores the dark side of domestic disputes, leaving a community reeling and prompting calls for better awareness on relationship red flags.
