Telugu Blockbusters Storm OTT Platforms This Friday

Two high-profile Telugu films, Kuberaa and Bhairavam, are set to make their digital debuts on July 18, 2025, captivating audiences on Amazon Prime Video and ZEE5, respectively. Following successful theatrical runs, these films promise to bring their distinct narratives and stellar casts to streaming audiences. Here’s a detailed look at what makes these releases unmissable.

Kuberaa: A Social Thriller with Star Power

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa features Dhanush as a beggar entangled in a conspiracy, alongside Nagarjuna as a former CBI officer and Rashmika Mandanna in a pivotal role. The film, which explores themes of greed and redemption, has been praised for its fresh narrative and Devi Sri Prasad’s compelling score. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video starting July 18, following a Rs. 50 crore OTT deal.

Bhairavam: Action-Packed Drama Hits ZEE5

Bhairavam, a Telugu remake of the Tamil hit Garudan, stars Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj, and Nara Rohith, with Aditi Shankar and Anandhi in key roles. Directed by Vijay Kanakamedala, the film delves into themes of loyalty and betrayal, centered around a temple land scam. It begins streaming on ZEE5 on July 18, aiming to recapture its theatrical intensity.

Stellar Casts and Directorial Vision

Kuberaa showcases Dhanush’s nuanced performance and Nagarjuna’s unique portrayal, complemented by Jim Sarbh’s menacing antagonist. Bhairavam leverages its ensemble cast and Sricharan Pakala’s dynamic music to deliver a high-octane experience. Both films highlight Telugu cinema’s evolving narrative depth and production quality.

Theatrical Success and OTT Anticipation

Kuberaa grossed Rs. 133 crore worldwide during its June 20 theatrical release, earning acclaim for its social commentary. Bhairavam, despite a modest Rs. 19.29 crore box office haul, is expected to resonate with OTT audiences due to its action-driven plot. The digital premieres are poised to attract diverse viewers across India.

Streaming Platforms and Accessibility

Amazon Prime Video secured Kuberaa’s rights, ensuring a pan-Indian reach in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Bhairavam will be available in Telugu and dubbed Hindi on ZEE5, broadening its appeal. These releases underscore the growing influence of OTT platforms in delivering premium Telugu content.
