Monsoon Session Begins with Optimism
On July 21, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) addressed the media before the start of the Parliament’s Monsoon Session, expressing hope for productive discussions. He described the session as a “Vijay Utsav” (victory celebration), highlighting India’s recent achievements in defense and space. The session, running until August 21, includes 21 sittings over 32 days, with a break from August 12 to 17 for Independence Day celebrations.

Operation Sindoor’s Success
Modi lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their 100% success in Operation Sindoor, a precision strike targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) following the April 22 Pahalgam attack. He noted that the forces destroyed terrorist hideouts in just 22 minutes, showcasing India’s military prowess. The operation has drawn global attention to India’s indigenous defense capabilities, with world leaders expressing interest in “Made in India” weapons.

Global Outreach Against Terrorism
The Prime Minister praised multi-party delegations of MPs who traveled worldwide to expose Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terrorism post-Operation Sindoor. Their efforts have highlighted India’s unified stance against terrorism on the global stage. Modi emphasized that this collective action strengthens India’s position and counters Pakistan’s malicious activities.

Progress in Eradicating Naxalism
Modi highlighted significant strides in combating Naxalism, stating that many districts previously under its grip are now free and transforming into “green growth zones.” He credited the security forces’ renewed resolve and the triumph of India’s Constitution over violence. The Prime Minister underscored that peace and development are advancing together, with former “red corridors” becoming hubs of progress.

Shubhanshu Shukla’s Space Milestone
Modi celebrated Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla (Shubhanshu Shukla) for hoisting India’s tricolor at the International Space Station (ISS), a historic feat. He described this achievement as a source of national pride, inspiring youth in science and technology. The Prime Minister urged MPs to unite in honoring this milestone, predicting it will fuel future space missions.

Monsoon Boosts Agricultural Economy
The Prime Minister noted that favorable monsoon rains are benefiting farmers and strengthening the rural economy. He highlighted that water reservoir levels have tripled over the past decade, boosting agricultural productivity. Modi emphasized the monsoon’s critical role in supporting the nation’s economy and every household’s financial well-being.

Call for Unity in Parliament
Modi urged MPs and political parties to set aside differences and unite for national interests during the session. He stressed that celebrating India’s victories, like Operation Sindoor and Shukla’s space mission, would boost military morale and inspire innovation. The Prime Minister called for a unified voice to strengthen India’s global standing and drive progress.
