TELANGANA: Kavitha’s Telangana Jagruthi Office Launch Fuels Political Buzz Amid Party Rift Speculation
New Office Inaugurated with Symbolic Touch
BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha inaugurated the new headquarters of Telangana Jagruthi Sanstha at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on Saturday. Accompanied by her husband, she participated in religious rituals before formally opening the premises. The event quickly drew attention in political circles for its timing, symbolism, and underlying signals.
Absent Faces and Prominent Portraits Stir Debate
The office’s flex boards showcased only the portraits of Telangana ideologue Professor K. Jayashankar, BRS founder K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), and Kavitha herself. The absence of images of other prominent BRS leaders sparked speculation, hinting at possible internal discontent or emerging ambitions within the party.
Adding to the intrigue, Kavitha appeared in a milky white saree—reportedly the proposed color of a speculated new political outfit she is rumored to be forming. Though she has publicly denied any intentions to float a separate party, this symbolic move is being interpreted as a strategic signal by political observers.
Statues and Appointments Signal Broader Vision
The new office is adorned with statues of key historical and social figures, including B. R. Ambedkar, Telangana Thalli, Acharya Jayashankar, Jyotiba Phule, and Savitribai Phule. A martyrs’ memorial has also been established at the premises.
Kavitha appointed Ponnamaneni Balaji Rao as the secretary of Telangana Jagruthi. A veteran from Peddapalli district, Balaji Rao previously served as a BRS mandal president and held local governance positions, strengthening her team with grassroots political experience.
Direct Criticism of CM Revanth Reddy
In a sharp critique, Kavitha questioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s failure to uphold Telangana pride. She accused him of not honoring Telangana martyrs on Formation Day and challenged his silence on critical interstate water issues like the Banakacharla project.
“Revanth Reddy should still say ‘Jai Telangana.’ His silence on Godavari water issues raises concerns. He appears to be working in the interest of Andhra Pradesh,” she asserted, criticizing what she called the Congress party’s apathy toward Telangana’s cause.
Defensive Stand on KCR and Mahadharna Announcement
Defending BRS chief KCR, Kavitha condemned the recent legal notices issued to him. “Giving notices to KCR is akin to issuing them to the state of Telangana itself. KCR was instrumental in the statehood movement, and such actions will not go unchallenged,” she said.
She announced that Telangana Jagruthi will organize a massive protest (Mahadharna) at Indira Park on June 4 to oppose these notices. Kavitha emphasized the dual focus of KCR—leading both BRS and Telangana Jagruthi—and warned that any threat to Telangana’s share in Godavari waters would be met with public resistance.
