TELANGANA: Group-1 Parents: Stop Politicizing Our Kids Future
Parents of Group-1 exam rankers gathered at Somajiguda Press Club, visibly emotional, to denounce allegations that their children paid ₹3 crore to secure jobs.
They urged political leaders to stop spreading unproven claims and demanded a fair investigation.
Their heartfelt plea underscored the pain of seeing their children’s hard-earned success tainted by controversy.
Tears and Defiance
The parents, many in tears, shared stories of sacrifice—taking loans and skipping meals to fund their children’s education.
“We’ve never seen ₹30 lakh, let alone ₹3 crore,” said Lalitha, mother of the 67th ranker, challenging accusers to provide evidence.
Another parent, a schoolteacher earning ₹10,000 monthly, passionately denied claims of buying a job, vowing to face any scrutiny.
High Court’s Ruling Sparks Outcry
On September 9, the Telangana High Court canceled the Group-1 Mains results, responding to 12 petitions alleging irregularities in exam conduct and evaluation.
The 222-page verdict has left rankers and their families in limbo, prompting the press conference.
Parents called for justice, insisting the court consider their children’s honest efforts.
A Plea for Unity
- End False Claims: Parents demanded evidence for allegations of job-buying, rejecting them as baseless.
- Support Investigation: They welcomed a transparent probe to clear their children’s names.
- Political Cooperation: Urged leaders across parties to avoid exploiting the issue for political gain.
Personal Stories of Struggle
The mother of the 366th ranker, a widow working for ₹10,000, broke down, saying she’d “write her own death certificate” if proven guilty of such payments.
Mahesh’s father, whose son left an SI job to pursue Group-1, questioned the logic of baseless accusations.
These families emphasized their children’s grueling preparation, pleading for fairness over politics.
