Details of the Assault
The victim, Pawan Kumar from Moravapalli, Pulicherla mandal, was attacked over a bike rental dispute at Anil Kumar Reddy’s SVP Bike Riders and Rentals shop near Tirupati Srinivasam. After failing to pay for a rented bike and borrowing another vehicle, Pawan was apprehended at Tirupati railway station by Jagadeeshwar Reddy and Ajay Kumar.
Escalation and Brutality
Pawan was taken to Anil Kumar Reddy’s office, where he was beaten with a police baton by Dinesh from Pakala, allegedly under Anil’s instructions. The assault, captured in a viral video, left Pawan unconscious, prompting outrage from Dalit organizations and the victim’s family.

Pawan’s mother, Sunitha, reported that her son received death threats and demands for Rs. 5 lakh, accompanied by a video of the assault. She lodged a formal complaint with Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhaktavatsalam, highlighting the severity of the intimidation.
