Amaravati: Naidu’s Fury: Revenue Dept Faces Overhaul Demand

Chief Minister’s Discontent with Revenue Department

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed profound dissatisfaction with the Revenue Department’s performance during a critical review meeting at the State Secretariat on Friday. He lambasted officials for delays in resolving land-related disputes, highlighting systemic inefficiencies that have eroded public trust.

Legacy Issues Fuel Land Disputes

Naidu attributed the escalation of land conflicts and survey discrepancies across villages to the failures of the previous administration. He criticized the accumulation of thousands of unresolved applications at Tahsildar offices, underscoring the urgency for prompt and effective resolutions to restore public confidence.

Commitment to Expedite Solutions

Reiterating his Mahanadu pledge, Naidu vowed to resolve all land-related issues within a year, emphasizing the need for substantive reforms over superficial changes. He stressed that addressing these grievances swiftly is pivotal to fostering positive public sentiment toward the government.

Call for Systemic Overhaul

The Chief Minister advocated for a comprehensive overhaul of the Revenue Department, asserting that mere incremental adjustments would not suffice. He emphasized the necessity of a thorough cleansing of departmental practices to achieve tangible outcomes and improve service delivery.

Leveraging Technology for Accessibility

To enhance the accessibility of revenue services, Naidu directed officials to extensively utilize technology, addressing challenges such as staff shortages and excessive workload. The government aims to streamline processes, ensuring services are more user-friendly and efficient for citizens.

Anticipated Directives Post-Review

Following the review, Naidu is expected to issue critical directives aimed at accelerating the resolution of land disputes and improving departmental efficiency. These measures are anticipated to include stricter oversight and innovative technological interventions to address public grievances.
