Notification Released

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued a notification on July 22, 2025, for recruiting 100 Forest Section Officer (FSO) posts under the state’s Forest Department. Online applications will be accepted from July 28 to August 17, 2025, via the official website, with a preliminary exam scheduled for September 2025.

Vacancy Details

The recruitment aims to fill 100 FSO vacancies across multiple districts, including Srikakulam, East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Nellore, Prakasam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadapa, and Kurnool. Successful candidates will be posted in various forest divisions, enhancing the state’s conservation efforts.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be aged 18–30 years as of July 1, 2025, with a five-year age relaxation for SC, ST, BC, and EWS candidates. A bachelor’s degree in disciplines such as Forestry, Botany, Zoology, Agriculture, or Horticulture from a recognized university is mandatory.

Selection Process

The selection involves a multi-stage process:

  • Screening Test (Preliminary Exam): Objective-type, conducted offline
  • Main Written Examination: Computer-based, covering General Studies, Mental Ability, and domain-specific topics
  • Physical Test: Includes endurance and fitness assessments
  • Document Verification: Final stage for shortlisted candidates

Salary and Benefits

Selected FSOs will receive a pay scale of Rs. 32,670–1,01,970, as per the 7th Pay Commission, along with allowances like medical aid and conveyance. This offers a stable and rewarding career in Andhra Pradesh’s forest administration.

Application Process

Candidates must apply online at www.psc.ap.gov.in, paying a Rs. 250 application fee and an Rs. 80 examination fee. Exemptions apply for SC, ST, BC, ex-servicemen, and certain other categories, who pay only the application fee.
