Movie Desk: The highly anticipated gangster drama OG has finally hit the screens, and fans were eager to see Power Star back in full force. Here’s the Pawan Kalyan OG movie review, covering the story, analysis, highlights, and final verdict.

Story

Ojas Gambheer, also known as OG (Pawan Kalyan), grows up as an orphan raised among samurais in Japan, mastering martial arts.

Unexpected circumstances bring him to Mumbai, where he finds refuge under Satyadada (Prakash Raj).

OG becomes a protector of the port empire, forming a strong bond with Satyadada. However, a fallout leads OG to leave Mumbai.

Years later, mafia don Omi Bhau (Emraan Hashmi) threatens to destroy Satyadada’s empire.

When danger strikes his family, OG returns to Mumbai. The story revolves around whether he can defeat Omi and safeguard his people.

This sets the stage for an emotional gangster drama.

Analysis

OG feels like a tailor-made fan feast for Pawan Kalyan admirers. Director Sujeeth has heavily focused on hero elevations and intense action sequences.

The interval episode is a clear highlight, giving goosebumps, while the police station sequence showcases the director’s strong visualization.

On the flip side, the storyline doesn’t bring much freshness. Despite the unique Japanese backdrop at the start, the later proceedings follow a familiar path.

While Pawan’s stylish screen presence and mass appeal will satisfy fans, neutral audiences may find little novelty in the plot.

Thaman’s background score is a huge asset, elevating every action block with intensity.

Ravi K. Chandran’s cinematography adds visual grandeur to the film. However, the second half loses steam with a weak villain track and a climax that falls short of expectations.

Plus Points

Pawan Kalyan’s stylish look and screen presence

Interval episode

Thaman’s powerful BGM

Strong visuals and cinematography

Minus Points

Lack of novelty in the story

Weak villain characterization

Verdict: Climax could have been better

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5)

OG is a mass entertainer crafted primarily for fans of Pawan Kalyan.

While it delivers powerful moments, stylish action, and whistle-worthy hero elevations, the lack of freshness in the narrative and a weak second half keep it from reaching its true potential.

Have to wait and see how the OG Collection worldwide will have an impact.
