Director’s Vision for Digital Divinity
Director Ashwin Kumar, in a recent media interaction, revealed that even a live-action adaptation would have depicted Lord Narasimha digitally to capture his divine essence. He named Rana Daggubati, Mohanlal, and Vijay Sethupathi as ideal candidates for the role of the demon king Hiranyakashipu, citing their commanding presence.
Why Animation Over Live-Action?
Kumar explained that the film’s four-and-a-half-year production demanded a commitment unattainable from top-tier actors for a debut director. “Crafting characters digitally allowed us to realize this ambitious vision without logistical constraints,” he noted, emphasizing animation’s role in delivering a timeless narrative.

Rooted in the Vishnu Purana, the film’s depiction of Prahlad’s devotion and Narasimha’s battle with Hiranyakashipu has struck a chord, blending scriptural fidelity with modern animation. The climactic confrontation, enhanced by Sam CS’s score, has been lauded as a cinematic milestone.
