NATIONAL: Spy Ring Exposed: YouTuber Jasbir Singh Held in Widening Pakistan Espionage Probe

Spy Network Crackdown Intensifies
Punjab Police have arrested prominent YouTuber Jasbir Singh for alleged involvement in espionage activities linked to Pakistan.

This arrest follows the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, as authorities intensify their crackdown on cross-border intelligence networks.

Singh is the second YouTuber arrested in recent weeks for suspected espionage.

High-Profile YouTube Channel Under Scrutiny
Jasbir Singh, a resident of Mahalan village in Punjab’s Rupnagar district, operates a YouTube channel called Jaan Mahal, which has over 1.1 million subscribers.

According to police sources, Singh was allegedly in contact with Pakistani intelligence operatives and was passing sensitive information.

Links to Pakistan’s ISI and Embassy Officials
Investigations reveal Singh maintained communication with Shakir, alias Jutt Randhawa, believed to be an operative of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and Ehsan Ur Rahim, alias Danish, an official posted at the Pakistani Embassy in New Delhi.

Singh reportedly attended the Pakistan National Day celebrations at the embassy on Danish’s invitation.

Suspicious Visits and Digital Footprints
Authorities confirmed that Singh had traveled to Pakistan in 2020, 2021, and 2024.

Forensic analysis of his seized electronic devices revealed contact lists and communication logs with several Indian nationals.

Police allege attempts were made to erase these details, especially after the arrest of fellow YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra.

Link to Previously Arrested Influencer Jyoti Malhotra
Singh has been linked to Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was earlier arrested for sharing confidential Indian information with Pakistani operatives.

Malhotra visited Pakistan in 2023, where she reportedly established links with intelligence personnel.

Although no terror affiliations have been found in her case, police confirmed her continued communication with foreign agents.

Ongoing Investigation and Widening Probe
So far, seven individuals have been detained in Punjab for alleged espionage linked to Pakistan.

A comprehensive probe is underway, with intelligence and cybercrime units working in tandem.

Officials stress that while no direct terror connections have been found yet, the depth of the information shared poses significant risks to national security.
