ANDHRA PRADESH: Wife and Lover Arrested in Brutal Anantapur Murder
In a shocking crime in Anantapur Rural Mandal, Andhra Pradesh, a wife and her boyfriend were apprehended for the murder of her husband, Suresh Babu. The incident, driven by an extramarital affair, unfolded on the Akkampalli-Rachanapalli road. Police resolved the case within six hours, exposing a chilling conspiracy.
Victim’s Background and Business
Suresh Babu, aged 43, operated a modest hotel on Kalyanadurgam Road in Akkampalli. His wife, Anita, 37, was employed at the same establishment, where she encountered Baba Fakhruddin, 34, a fruit vendor who relocated from Goradindla to Sadashivkalaniki a decade ago.
Extramarital Affair Sparks Conflict
Anita and Fakhruddin began an illicit relationship two months prior to the crime. Suresh Babu’s growing suspicions led to frequent disputes, exacerbated by his intoxication, during which he allegedly harassed Anita, intensifying her resolve to eliminate him.
Meticulous Murder Plot
Anita, deeming her husband an obstacle, conspired with Fakhruddin to murder him. She devised a plan to ambush Suresh Babu as he rode home on his two-wheeler after closing the hotel. On the night of the crime, Anita urged Fakhruddin to act immediately.
Execution of the Crime
At approximately 11 PM, Fakhruddin, who had traveled to Marthadu village for business, attacked Suresh Babu. He hurled a bottle, causing Suresh Babu to fall from his bike, then stabbed him with a screwdriver and fatally struck him with a rock before fleeing.
Swift Police Investigation
District Superintendent of Police P. Jagadish personally oversaw the investigation, directing special teams led by Anantapur Rural DSP Venkatesulu and CI Shekhar. Leveraging precise intelligence, the police arrested Anita and Fakhruddin within six hours.
Official Commendation
SP Jagadish lauded the investigative team for their efficiency in cracking the case. The rapid resolution underscores the police’s commitment to justice in Anantapur Rural Mandal.
Broader Context of Crime
This murder follows another high-profile case in Telangana, where a private surveyor, Tejeshwar, was killed. Both incidents highlight a disturbing trend of domestic conspiracies culminating in violent outcomes.
