Movie Desk: In this War 2 Telugu movie review, we take a look at the much-anticipated sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film stars Hrithik Roshan, NTR, Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles, music by Pritam (songs) and Sanchit–Ankit (BGM).

Released on August 14, 2025, the film promises a visual spectacle filled with international locations, thrilling stunts, and plenty of suspense.

Story:
Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) is a skilled RAW agent sent by Chief Luthra (Ashutosh Rana) to infiltrate a deadly terrorist group named Kaali.

In a shocking turn, Kabir unexpectedly kills Luthra during the mission. While the audience eventually learns why, the RAW team remains in the dark.

Major Vikram (NTR) joins RAW to uncover the truth behind Luthra’s death. Initially hunting Kabir, Vikram later joins forces with him under unexpected circumstances.

The plot unfolds with Kaali’s sinister plans, surprising twists in Kavya’s (Kiara Advani) character, and intense action sequences that keep the suspense alive.

War 2 excels visually, with action scenes shot in Japan, Germany, Singapore, and Dubai offering cinematic grandeur.

Hrithik Roshan impresses with his signature style, intensity, and action presence. NTR’s role offers varied shades, from positive to grey, with a final twist.

Though his screen presence feels slightly overshadowed by Hrithik. Kiara shines in both glamour and action, but her role is limited.

Pritam’s songs are average, but the background score by Sanchit–Ankit elevates the tension, especially during key sequences.

Cinematography is top-notch, and the graphics rival Hollywood standards.

Plus Points:

  • Hrithik Roshan & NTR’s action sequences
  • International locations & grand production values
  • BGM and music score

Minus Points:

  • Lack of novelty in the storyline
  • Weak emotional connect in the second half

Bottom Line:
A high-octane action spectacle that may lack story freshness but will entertain mass audiences.

Rating: 2.75/5
