ANDHRA PRADESH: Vizag Set to Host CII Partnership Summit: A New Era of Investments
Andhra Pradesh is buzzing with economic promise as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit kicks off in Visakhapatnam today.
Ahead of the main events on November 14 and 15, the state government has already inked deals with 35 companies, totaling Rs.3.65 lakh crore in commitments.
These pacts, announced on the eve of the summit, are set to generate 1.26 lakh jobs, injecting fresh momentum into the region’s growth story.
Minister for IT and Industries Nara Lokesh has been at the forefront, overseeing additional agreements signed since this morning with six more firms.
The flurry of activity underscores Andhra Pradesh’s push to become a magnet for global capital, blending high-tech ambitions with infrastructure upgrades.
With over 300 delegates from 45 countries expected, the summit feels like a high-stakes showcase of the state’s investor-friendly vibe.
Mega Deals Lighting Up the Pipeline
Among the standout MoUs, ReNew Power, often referred to locally as Renew Pawan, has pledged Rs.62,000 crore for renewable energy ventures, including solar and green hydrogen projects.
This marks a significant comeback for the company, which eyed Andhra Pradesh five years ago before policy shifts intervened.
Adding to the green focus, EOWL (likely a nod to emerging clean tech players) committed Rs.19,000 crore, targeting sustainable manufacturing hubs.
The Taiwan Industrial Park agreement rounds out the highlights, with Rs.1,200 crore earmarked for electronics and assembly lines.
These deals span sectors from renewables to tech parks, reflecting a deliberate diversification.
Early signs suggest the summit’s broader tally could hit Rs.9.8 lakh crore across 410 MoUs, potentially creating 7.5 lakh jobs statewide.
Groundbreakings and Groundswells
Lokesh didn’t just sign papers; he rolled up his sleeves for several foundation ceremonies, starting with IT heavyweights.
He laid the cornerstone for Sails Software and iSpace Software Solutions, both poised to bolster Visakhapatnam’s digital ecosystem.
Tech Tammina Software Solutions and Phenom People Limited followed, with promises of innovative tools for HR and enterprise needs.
Shifting gears to urban development, Lokesh officiated the groundbreaking for Raheja IT Space and a residential project, blending workspaces with housing to attract talent.
The highlight? A traditional Bhoomi Puja for the World Trade Center, a Rs.1,000 crore initiative expected to spawn thousands of jobs in trade and logistics.
“This is about turning vision into reality,” Lokesh remarked, emphasizing quick approvals and incentives to keep the momentum rolling.
