Tata Group’s Response to Tragedy
Following the catastrophic crash of Air India Flight AI171 in Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025, Tata Group, the parent company of Air India, announced comprehensive support measures. The group pledged Rs 1 crore as ex-gratia compensation for each deceased victim’s family.

Chairman’s Condolences
Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran expressed profound grief, stating, “The Air India crash has deeply disturbed us. Words cannot express the pain.” He extended heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragedy in Meghaninagar.

Financial and Medical Support

  • An ex-gratia payment of Rs 1 crore will be provided to families of the deceased.
  • Tata Group will cover medical expenses for all injured individuals.
  • The group committed to supporting the reconstruction of the B.J. Medical College hostel, damaged in the crash.
