Tamilnadu: Stalin’s Steel Grip on Growth

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced plans for an international airport in Hosur, the state’s industrial hub in Krishnagiri district. Spanning 2,000 acres, the project aims to bolster the region’s rapid economic expansion. The revelation came during an investors’ summit in Hosur, drawing widespread attention to infrastructure development.

Major Investment Wins

The summit secured Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 92 companies, promising Rs 24,307 crore in investments for the state. These deals are expected to generate direct and indirect employment for approximately 49,353 individuals.

  • Industries and Commerce Department: 53 large firms for Rs 23,303 crore.
  • MSME Department: 39 entities for Rs 1,003.85 crore.

Vision of Resilient Leadership

Addressing the gathering, Stalin likened his decision-making to the “Man of Steel,” emphasizing choices that yield enduring benefits. He celebrated Hosur’s transformation from a modest town into a magnet for domestic and global industries.

Recent overseas trips to Germany and England attracted Rs 15,516 crore in commitments, fueling the summit’s momentum and underscoring proactive economic diplomacy.

Key Infrastructure Initiatives

Stalin outlined an advanced IT park in Hosur, covering 500,000 square feet at a cost of Rs 400 crore to foster tech innovation.

He also inaugurated four new schemes worth Rs 1,600 crore, projected to create 8,000 jobs and enhance local opportunities.

Over the past 4.5 years of governance, 77% of signed MoUs have materialized, as stated by Stalin, as operational factories, reflecting efficient execution.
