Hyderabad: Revanth’s Century-Long Osmania Dream
Telangana’s Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has called for a new Osmania General Hospital designed to serve needs for the next century. He stressed completing the massive project within just two years. This directive came during a key review meeting at his Jubilee Hills home on October 22, 2025.
Officials from various departments gathered to discuss progress. Reddy emphasized equipping the facility with cutting-edge medical tools right from the start. He wants rooms, labs, and other structures aligned perfectly with these advanced requirements.
Focus on Local Impact and Roads
Beyond the building itself, the plan includes surrounding road works to minimize disruption for nearby residents. Reddy urged starting these infrastructure upgrades alongside the main construction. The goal is seamless integration without everyday hassles for locals.
A coordination committee must form immediately, involving health, police, municipal, roads, and power experts. This group will inspect the site regularly and convene every ten days. Their job: spot issues early and keep everything moving swiftly.
Post-Construction Planning Ahead
Once built, the hospital needs solid security and traffic management strategies in place from day one. Reddy directed advance blueprints for these essentials. He also pushed for linking the site to multiple highways now, ensuring easy access for all.
For broader healthcare growth, assign one officer per hospital or medical college under construction across districts. These supervisors get full oversight duties to monitor constantly. Aim to wrap up all such projects by next June, boosting statewide facilities.
- Modern gear procurement should match the hospital’s scale from the outset.
- Cross-department teamwork ensures no delays in this high-stakes build.
- Early road connections will make the new Osmania a true community asset.
