On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme during an event in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This ₹20,000 crore disbursement will benefit approximately 9.7 crore farmers across India.
Scheme’s Financial Support Framework
Launched on February 24, 2019, the PM Kisan scheme provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible landholding farmers, disbursed in three ₹2,000 installments. To date, over ₹3.46 lakh crore has been transferred to 11 crore farmers across 19 installments.
Checking Beneficiary Status Online
Farmers can verify their payment status by visiting the official PM Kisan portal at pmkisan.gov.in and navigating to the “Beneficiary Status” section. Entering an account number and validating via OTP displays transaction details, including the latest installment.
Steps to Confirm Beneficiary List Inclusion
To check inclusion in the beneficiary list, farmers should select the “Beneficiary List” option, input details like state, district, and village, and click “Get Report.” This ensures eligibility confirmation and timely receipt of funds.
Mandatory e-KYC Compliance
Completion of e-KYC is critical for receiving the ₹2,000 installment, requiring Aadhaar-linked bank accounts and updated records. Non-compliance may lead to payment delays or exclusions, as emphasized by the Ministry of Agriculture.
