Counselling Roadmap
Qualified candidates will engage in counseling for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and allied courses. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) oversees 15% of All India Quota seats, while state authorities manage 85% of State Quota seats.
Counselling Phases
The process includes Round 1, Round 2, mop-up, and stray vacancy rounds. Candidates must prepare documents like NEET scorecards, admit cards, marksheets, photo IDs, and category certificates.
Cut-Off and Statistics
Category-wise cutoffs, based on exam difficulty and performance, are available on neet.nta.nic.in. The NTA will release a press note detailing pass percentage, topper list, and gender-wise statistics.
2024 Context
Last year’s NEET UG saw 23.81 lakh registrations, up from 20.87 lakh in 2023, intensifying competition. The NTA noted that grace marks and a less challenging exam contributed to the high number of perfect scores.
Next Steps
Candidates should monitor mcc.nic.in and state portals for counseling schedules. Timely document preparation is essential for seamless seat allocation in medical institutions.
