
Hyderabad: Due to heavy rain alert in Telangana, Uttam Kumar Reddy orders has been issued as the Meteorological Department warns of heavy to very heavy rains across the state for the next four days.
In response, Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has released urgent directives to officials statewide.
The minister instructed irrigation department officers to remain on high alert and respond immediately to any emergency situations.
Considering the rainfall forecast, he announced the cancellation of all leaves for employees in relevant departments.
Authorities have been told to intensify surveillance on projects, dams, canals, and reservoirs.
Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized the need for regular regional-level reviews and prompt submission of reports on the situation.
He stressed that coordination with district collectors and other department heads is mandatory.
These directives have been sent to Irrigation Chief Secretary Rahul Bojja, Special Secretary Jeevan Patil, Joint Secretary K. Srinivas, and ENC Anjad Hussain, along with CE-level officers for strict implementation.
The minister stated that taking precautionary measures in advance could minimize the impact of the rains.
He also urged the public to remain cautious and follow official advisories.
