NATIONAL: Gang Shooting at Disha Patani’s Home Ends in Deadly Encounter
Shocking Attack in Bareilly
A shooting outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s family home in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, sent shockwaves through the community.
Two assailants, later identified as members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang, fired multiple rounds at 3:45 AM, creating panic in the Civil Lines area.
The incident, which targeted the residence where Disha’s family resides, prompted swift action from authorities.
Deadly Police Encounter
Five days later, on September 17, a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Delhi Police tracked down the suspects in Tronica City, Ghaziabad.
During the confrontation, an exchange of gunfire left both accused, Ravindra from Rohtak and Arun from Sonipat, critically injured. They later succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
Weapons and Gang Links
Police recovered a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and numerous cartridges from the scene, confirming the suspects’ ties to the notorious Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang.
Ravindra, known for prior criminal activities, was a key figure in the gang’s operations.
The group claimed responsibility via a social media post, citing alleged remarks by Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani, as the motive.
Motive and Investigation
The attack is believed to stem from Khushboo Patani’s comments, which reportedly offended a group, though details remain under scrutiny.
A former Army major and current fitness trainer, Khushboo was at the residence with her parents and brother during the incident. Authorities are verifying the gang’s claims while continuing to hunt for other suspects.
Swift Response from Authorities
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally assured Disha’s father, Jagdish Patani, a retired DSP, of stringent action against the culprits.
The state’s zero-tolerance policy on crime drove the rapid identification of the shooters using CCTV footage and intelligence from neighboring states. The investigation remains active to uncover additional gang connections.
