ANDHRAPRADESH: Fatal Crash Probe: Jagan’s Vehicle Sound, Human Error Suspected
Vehicle Inspection Findings
Transport department officials, led by Motor Vehicle Inspector Gangadhara Prasad, conducted a thorough examination of the vehicle registered as AP40 DH 2349, owned by YSRCP president Jagan. The inspection, prompted by police, confirmed the vehicle’s brakes, engine, and chassis were in optimal condition, with no mechanical faults detected.
Registration and Compliance
The vehicle, registered in 2024, holds valid insurance until 2027 and fitness certification until 2039. All records aligned with the physical inspection, verifying the vehicle’s compliance with regulatory standards.
Incident Overview
On June 18, 2025, the vehicle was involved in a fatal accident in Vengalayapalem, Guntur district, resulting in the death of Chili Singhaiah, a Dalit individual. The police have registered a case against the driver, Ramana Reddy (A1), Jagan (A2), and other YSRCP leaders present in the vehicle.
Post-Accident Developments
Following the incident, the vehicle sustained minor damage due to trampling but remained operational, as reported by activists. It was later seized from the YSRCP central office and relocated to the district police office for further scrutiny.
Human Error as Primary Cause
Inspector Prasad concluded that the accident stemmed from human error rather than mechanical failure. A detailed report of the findings will be submitted to DSP Bhanodaya to aid the ongoing investigation.
Ongoing Investigation
While the vehicle’s condition has been deemed sound, the precise circumstances leading to Singhaiah’s death remain under investigation. Authorities are yet to determine the factors contributing to the tragic event.
