ANDHRA PRADESH: ED Raids Shake Liquor Scam Trail in Andhra Pradesh
Wide-Ranging Inspections Across Multiple Cities
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched massive search operations in connection with the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam.
Nearly 20 locations across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thanjavur, Delhi, Surat, and Raipur were searched.
The raids were conducted under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The operation stems from an FIR filed by the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID).
According to the FIR, the accused allegedly replaced leading liquor brands with newly launched products, deceiving consumers and causing heavy losses to the state exchequer.

Initial estimates suggest the Andhra Pradesh government treasury suffered a loss of nearly ₹4,000 crore.
The accused reportedly promoted new liquor brands, bypassing established ones, thereby manipulating both demand and revenue.
