Seyyed Mohammad Reza Siddaghi Saber held a crucial position in Iran’s nuclear and defense establishment. He led the Shahid Karimi Group, a division under Iran’s Organization of Defense Innovation and Research. The United States had earlier included him in its sanctions list, citing his involvement in projects related to nuclear explosives manufacturing and missile development.
Recent Strikes on Key Nuclear Facilities
Recently, a series of precision airstrikes targeted critical Iranian nuclear infrastructure, including facilities in Isfahan, Fordow, and Natanz. These attacks reportedly involved 14 bunker-buster bombs and inflicted severe damage on Iran’s nuclear program.
The US has stated that these operations significantly weakened Iran’s nuclear capabilities. The latest killing of a senior scientist is expected to further delay Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
