Traditionally, Vinayaka Chavithi has been a lucrative season for big-ticket blockbusters. However, this year the box office is seeing no star-driven juggernauts.
Instead, mid-scale and small films are taking the spotlight. Titles like Sundarakanda, Tribanadhari Barbarik, Arjun Chakravarthy, and Kanyakumari are lining up for theatrical release. Adding to the mix, Janhvi Kapoor’s Param Sundari is scheduled to premiere this weekend.
Theatrical excitement remains subdued after last week’s Coolie and War 2 left fans disappointed. Cinephiles now await a wave of star-led films slated for early September.
OTT dominates the week
